Rubble Tile’s Mosa, Featured by Christian Dean Architecture & the Homes by Architects Tour
Don’t Miss This Beautifully Designed Home on the Homes by Architects Tour – This Weekend! Saturday, September 17 and Sunday, September 18, 2016 10 am to 5 pm
We’re thrilled that Christian Dean Architecture‘s house on the Homes by Architects Tour features Rubble’s Dutch tile line, Mosa Tile. Our photographer spent some time in the newly built home and we’d like to share some of the installation photos with you!
Mosa Murals Change (Used on Powder Bath Walls)
Mosa Murals 6×6, used in the powder bath, is a unique and innovative concept for authentic ceramic walls: murals. Each mural has an individual character and signature, and is designed by balancing size, tone, color and surfaces in a preselected or custom designed grid. The resulting pattern is a ceramic wall, layered across multiple dimensions.

Mosa Terra Planks (Used as Fireplace Surround)
Used here as a fireplace surround tile, Mosa’s Terra Planking makes it possible to achieve some of today’s favorite architectural patterns on walls or floors. Available in grey or warm hues and smooth or relief versions.
Mosa 10Thirty (Used on Bathroom/Shower Walls)
Rubble Tile’s Mosa 10Thirty is a 4 x 12 inch wall tile that opens up entirely new perspectives for imaginative interior design. It invites us to take another look at tiled surfaces.
Mosa Scenes (Multiple Bathroom & Shower Walls, Floors)
A stylish and adaptable range that produces bespoke wall and floor color gradations, giving depth and richness to any surface. The tiles in this flexible and original collection are available in eight colorways (in both warm and cool tones) and four textures each, in a nominal 6×6 inch size.
Mosa Solids (Main Floor/Hall)
Used by Christian Dean Architecture in the 24×24 inch size, Mosa Solids is a specially designed collection that effortlessly balances practicality and strength with renowned quality, elegance and natural look. This robust and dynamic collection can be applied to a wide variety of spaces such as shops, stations, hospitals and schools – and the contemporary home, due to its hardwearing and practical nature.
4043 Abbott Avenue South
DESIGN TEAM: Christian Dean, AIA; Katy Dale, Assoc.
AIA PROJECT TYPE: New Construction
A modern, sustainable infill home in the heart of Linden Hills, this home is Green Star certified and features a 4.9 kw solar array on the roof top.
It serves as a model for modern sustainable home design and building practices. This house does not maximize the allowed building width, instead providing a broad ‘solar’ yard to the south. Southern exposure is maximized for the solar array and passive solar strategies for the home.
The result is a narrow street profile and a well-sited home that does not crowd neighboring structures. Landscaping was also designed toward sustainability, featuring low-mow fescue in lieu of traditional turf.
