Rubble Tile in the Midwest Home Luxury Remodeling Tour
Midwest Home is kicking off the summer with their Luxury Remodeling Tour, a two-weekend event that showcases some of the Twin Cities’ top remodeling projects. The tour runs through the first two weekends of June, the 2nd-3rd and 9th-10th, from noon to 6 p.m. each day.
This event is for homeowners and designers alike, and is sure to provide ample inspiration, as well as opportunities to connect with designers and remodelers to make your remodeling dreams a reality.
Twin Cities Remodel by Bella Custom Homes
We’d like to spotlight one home in particular, a whole remodel of a classic home built in 1948. Bella Custom Homes spearheaded the remodeling, while David Lund Design and Julie Madge Interiors designed and decorated to modernize the space while honoring its original style.
The builders added 400 square feet to the original structure, and the interior design crew took advantage of this home’s secluded location to add ample windows and streamline the floor plan.
Of the many amazing products used in this remodel, some of our favorites are the AlysEdwards tile in the powder room and the Jasba tiles in the kids’ bath. This home, located at 34 Forest Dale in Minneapolis, is stop #3 on the tour and is only open for viewing during the first weekend. Take a look at these incredible designs while you can!
AysEdwards 360° Collection Mosaic Tiles
Beautiful penny round tiles by AlysEdwards were used on the powder room floor. Their 360° Collection is inspired by Japanese ceramics, and is known for its smooth, circular surfaces. The circular tiles come in 12 colors and are available in two different finishes—Matte and Gloss. Each tile has its own unique and rustic beauty, making a larger whole that is comprised of small, unique parts.
The tiles come in 3/4″x3/4″ circles on a 12″x12″ sheet. They are strong enough to function as floor and wall tiles, and the range of color options makes them perfect for covering large areas, or for an eye-catching backsplash. This unique and diverse collection looks beautiful on the powder room floor, and lends itself perfectly to many different design projects.
Jasba Loop—Creative Designs and Anti-Microbial Tiles
A look at the kids’ bath reveals more penny round tiles. These are from the Loop collection by the German manufacturer Jasba, a truly inventive collection with plenty of creative design promise. The Loop collection is being used in glossy Arctic White in the 1/2″ size in the back splash and shower ceiling, and the 1″ size on the bath floor.
The different size options in this collection provide some very intriguing design opportunities. The 1″ rounds are staggered, so the mosaic creates a uniform field of color. However, the 1/2″ are not staggered, which allows them to stack on top of each other and function more as pixels. This lets designers create playful graphic images with the mosaics by laying out different colors and shapes.
Loop is available in in a wide range of colors, from soothing neutrals to bright red-orange and yellow, cool aqua and navy, and even metallic options.
Another incredible quality of this collection is that it has a special glaze that has an anti-microbial quality. The glaze contains titanium dioxide, and when it is exposed to moisture, light, and oxygen, it starts breaking down dirt so that it’s easier to clean. This amazing technology is often used in hospitals, and is also perfect for a home bathroom.
Using this collection in the kids’ bath was an ingenious choice, as these are often the areas that need extensive cleaning. The Loop Collection cuts down on your cleaning time, and looks stunning at the same time.
Whether you are interested in home remodeling, interior design, or just want to see these stellar tiles by AlysEdwards and Jasba in a real world settling, the Luxury Remodeling Tour is a can’t-miss opportunity. The home also features many other Rubble Tile manufacturers, such as Mosa, Avanti and Ragno.
